Europe’s oldest clothing store (1720) and Vienna’s ­oldest shop tells the success story of a Swabian linen seller who, with his two daughters, came to Vienna. As a result of them never marrying, the shop was called “Zur Schwäbischen Jungfrau”. Here the gracious woman can get the finest bed and table goods – goods which are also treasured by the king of Malaysia and the sultan of Pahang.

In 1702, Vienna’s first porcelain house was founded in the center, and nowadays counts as a specialist when it comes to table culture. Then in 1878 the company Albin Denk ­received the title of an imperial and royal purveyor to the court.
